Baby Boy Shower Cake Decorating Techniques

I simply adore making cakes and creating very interesting cakes specially for some happy moments in everyone's life such as giving a birth to babies.

My very close friend from work was pregnant two years ago and was expecting a baby boy and I wanted to surprise her with a cake.

It was supposed to be surprised as she didn’t have idea that couple of colleges decided to organize a baby shower party.

I joined them and I was in charge to make a cake. If you like my cake read baby boy shower cake decorating techniques and you will find out how I made it.

Baby Boy Shower Cake Decorating Techniques

This is two tiers cake. The first tier is made of two layers. First I beat eggs with sugar, then added vanilla, butter, flour, ground almonds and baking powder. I mixed it well and left it in the fridge for 2 hours. When the batter was cooled I divided it into two parts and baked two layers in the preheated oven for 20 min. I repeated this procedure once again for the upper tier but this time I baked two layers in smaller pans.

When I finished baking layers I prepared the cream. I beat butter, added chestnut puree and mixed until combined. Then I added sugar and little rum. Then I beat cream, added to the previous mixture and beat all together. I put the frosting into the fridge to cool. When cooled I started with decorating cake. Between each layer I put frosting and the whole cake I covered with fondant. I made a little boat out of the modeling chocolate and on top if the cake I put anchor also made of modeling chocolate. It is not difficult at all. Try it!
