Couple of months ago I had a birthday and I wanted to celebrate it with my family and friend with nice dinner and birthday cake I made myself.

First, I baked five thin yellow cakes made of egg yolks, sugar, milk, flour and baking soda. I used rounded cake pan for baking. I placed one on another and each of them I greased with strawberry cream made of strawberries, sugar, water, and cornstarch.
I crushed strawberries, added water and cooked for 2 minutes and sieved it. Then I mixed sugar and cornstarch and gradually stirred into strawberry juice. I cooked it and stirred until it thickened.
I cooled it to room temperature and spread it on each cake. I cut the edges of the cakes with a sharp knife to achieve the shape of the hat. For decoration, I used fondant in beige color –my favorite color. First I measured the fondant, placed it over the cake to cover the whole cake, and left some extra fondant on sides.
I stretched the fondant gently and shaped the extra fondant to look as the hat's edges. I added orange band made of colored fondant at the bottom of the hat. At the end I added lily flower and roses I bought in specialized cake store. If you are skilled you can make these flowers yourself using fondant and eatables colors for painting flowers.
