Free Easy Red and Black Gift Box Cake Instruction

Niece's birthday party red and black gift box cake

This cake I made for my niece's birthday party.

Since she likes nice wrapped presents and surprises very much and she is a big fan of chocolate, I've decided to make her a chocolate cake in a shape of a present.

I baked a chocolate cake in square pan. For making this cake, I used eggs, flour, baking powder, sugar, and cocoa powder. First, I mixed eggs with sugar, added flour, baking powder and cocoa powder. I baked it in a preheated oven for about 30 min. When it was baked, I left it to cool in a pen for about 3 min.

Then, I turned it over from the pan and left it to cool completely. While it was cooling, I prepared chocolate cream. For the cream, I cooked eggs, sugar and chocolate on steam. After the cream was cooled, I added butter, mixed it all together and put it in a fridge to become thicker. When it was cooled, I frosted the cake with chocolate cream. For the decoration around the cake, I used 2 pieces of black fondant and wrapped them around.

Then, I covered the cake also with black colored fondant. For the ribbon and the stripes on the " present", I also used fondant, but this time in red color. I carefully placed the stripes on the cake, and in the center of it I put the ribbon also made of fondant. After placing the ribbon, I made the circles on the cake made from white and black fondant. After placing them, the cake looked absolutely wonderful.

On the niece's birthday party, everyone was amazed of the skills I had during making this cake. Niece was the one that liked the cake the most. And not only that it looked beautiful on the outside, it tasted even better on the inside.
