Free Easy Tuxedo Birthday Cake Instructions

Tuxedo birthday cake for my father's birthday
This cake I made for my father Ed. Since he was turning 50, I thought I should make a cake that's proper for his age.

He likes wearing suits a lot, so that gave me an extra idea, a tuxedo cake. If you like this cake, you can read my free easy tuxedo birthday cake instructions about making a tuxedo cake.

First, I made a vanilla cake in a round pan. For the cake, I used eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract. I mixed eggs and sugar first, and then I slowly added flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract.

I baked it in preheated oven for about 35 min. When it was baked, I left it few minutes in a pan to cool. After being cooled, I took the cake out of the pan and left it in a fridge to cool completely. While it was cooling, I prepared butter cream for frosting, which I will do later.

For the butter cream, I mixed eggs, sugar, and chocolate boiled on steam. When cooked, I added butter and left it to cool. After it was cooled, I frosted the cake with butter cream. I bought fondant in specialized store for covering the cake. I covered the cake with white fondant first, and after, I made a suit jacket out of brown fondant. I carefully put it on the cake. Since every jacket has a pocket on it, I made one pocket from white fondant.

I made the rose out of modeling chocolate. The modeling chocolate you usually make from black chocolate, but this time you'll have to make it with white chocolate, since you'll have to color it. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate for two minutes. Stir until it's smooth. After removing the chocolate from the heat, stir it again until it's smooth. When it's fully melted add corn syrup. You can also add food color. Stir and fold mixture until it forms a thick ball.

Pour the mixture onto the plastic-wrapped-lined cookie sheet and spread it out with a spatula. Let the mixture sit and stiffen for about 2 hours. After the modeling chocolate has rested for a few hours, break it into pieces that you can easily handle. You will kneed the chocolate with your hands. The warmth of your hands will warm up the chocolate and make it easier to kneed. Then make it in shape of rose. I later used icing bag to write the "Happy 50th birthday Ed" part of the cake. When I showed the cake to everyone, they were all amazed, especially Ed who didn't even expect that he would get such a nice cake.
