This two tier anniversary cake was a huge success! This was for a surprise 50th anniversary party for a wonderful couple! The cake was a 10" yellow layer cake on the bottom and 8" yellow layer cake on the top.

For this design I wanted to give the cake a timeless feel. I chose to use bold red flowers with the classic white "backdrop" so they popped! Of course, the 50th anniversary is the "golden" one so that is why I showered the cake with edible gold heart confetti.

Being a big cake with a lot of white icing, I added eye catching texture by piping random squiggles on the bottom half of each tier. I then piped swags around the top of each tier. This gives an elegant look to any cake!

I recommend using a Cake Dividing Set, which you could probably find in the cake decorating aisle of your craft store. This set will help you map out your cake so you will get the right spacing for swags and garland accents. There was no cake left at the end of the party!
