Having a party for a two kids at once? Well, here are two cakes in one! They even have their own cupcakes so there shouldn't be any fighting!

A client came to me and told me that her grandson and granddaughter were celebrating their birthdays at the same party. Instead of making two separate cakes...

I combined the girl cake and the boy cake. Easy to do...take two same size round cakes and set them side by side. I made 6 cupcakes along with the round cakes. Two cupcakes I set on each side where the two round cakes touched. I did this so there would be a wider surface to work with after I iced the cakes together.

After icing the cakes, I decorated one side for the grandson and one side for the granddaughter. I decorated the cupcakes just so they each had there own and I am sure that made them feel special. I try to make each cake unique in some way or the other.

This time I wrote 'Snips and snails and puppy dog tails...that's what little boys are made of!' and 'Sugar and spice and everything nice...that's what little girls are made of!' around the edge of the cake. Grammy loved the marble flavored cake and it was just so much fun!
