Fun Hamburger and Sundaes Cake Design

This is a great treat to take to a picnic or even a work party! I took this cake to a work party. We had a cook out that day and I wanted to make a dessert that would have a cook out theme.

The sundae cupcakes are a great treat at a cook out! Super fun and easy, easy, easy! Start with two 8" round cakes.

I recommend using chocolate cake for the "hamburger" part of the sandwich. Keep that cake whole. The other round cake cut in half as if to make a layer cake. Start with the bottom of this cake. Ice this part with a "bun" (light brown) tinted icing. Next use green tinted icing and a leaf tip and pipe "lettuce" onto the bottom "bun".

On top of that, place your round chocolate cake (make sure it is cut level). NO NEED TO ICE THIS CAKE! The next step is to use yellow and red tinted icing to add "ketchup and mustard", and green again if you want to add more "lettuce". For the top part of the "bun" add the other half of the first round cake, iced with the same light brown icing. Last but not least, use white icing and pipe on "sesame seeds".

For the sundae cupcakes, bake the cupcakes, cool, add icing and sprinkles and a cherry.
