Fun Sunflower Gifts Cake Design Picture
The two cakes shown here were made for a bridal shower. The theme was sunflowers. I was given "free reign" by the mother of the groom.
So since this was a bridal shower where gifts are given to the couple, I wanted to give them a "gift" as well. That is why I created wrapped "gifts" out of the cakes.
One cake is chocolate with peanut butter filling, and the other is a white cake with red raspberry filling. Yummy! The chocolate icing and the tinted yellow butter cream icing are great colors when working with sunflowers.
The bows are made from craft store ribbon and the sunflowers are silk flowers also from the craft store. When applying non-edible accents to the cakes I make, I am sure to clean the decorations thoroughly!
If possible I try to place parchment paper or a piece of cake board between the cake and the decoration. The last thing you want is to have a dirty cake or some one ingesting something they shouldn't! When created with care, your cakes can be beautiful and safe!
