Quinceanera Princess Cake

by Mary
(Dallas)

Quinceanera Princess Cake Picture

Quinceanera Princess Cake Picture

I made this cake for may cousin, Araceli.

The theme of her "quinceanera" was all about being a princess and this is what I came up with. She asked for a simple tiered cake.

This was the first time I tried to make a pillow out of cake, but I had no trouble. It is quite simple. Everyone who sees it thinks it a real pillow that I put on top, but it's all cake.

Heaven's 1st Bday

Heaven's 1st Bday

I made this cake for my great niece who turned 1. She loved it. She is loves tinker bell so i thought the best way to decorate the cake was to incorporate Tinker Bell and her friends.. I was lucky to find the entire collection of fairies at the Disney store.

My niece was excited and all party goers wowed my cake! Not too shabby for an armature.. cake was white chocolate/ 2nd layer was strawberry made from scratch.. yum.

Little Mermaid Under the Sea Sand Castle Cake

by Lisa
(Williamsburg Va )

I am trying to get ideas on how to make a Little Mermaid Under the Sea Sand Castle Cake that is half cake and half rice crispy treats. The only characters I want is Flounder, Sebastian, and Ariel. I want it to be colorful because it is going to be a beach party for my little girl who will be turning 3.

Like to have it look like a castle, but for the decorations and colors look like under the sea with sea creatures and coral reefs. I am just having trouble getting a picture generated. I have thoughts, but having trouble putting them together. So therefore, maybe someone else can do this. I am so want a draw bridge and windows in the castle. I hope someone as fun with this.

This is the first time I've made a doll cake. After the Flower Basket I proceed into another cake and other after another and so on.

As time goes on I really enjoying myself baking and decorating, especially after the finishing of the cake are all done. I had a very-very good feeling that sometimes i really can't explain, I think it's because I've done my cake well.

I am not really expert in doing this kind of things, but I am really interested about this, so, I'm still looking forward, and willing to learn more about this. So, I do hope that through this opportunity that you've given to me I can get more ideas and learn more about making cakes. Thank you very much and more power....

Purse and Make-up Birthday Cake

by Kim Hildreth
(Hamilton Mo,USA)

Girly Girl Birthday Cake

Girly Girl Birthday Cake

My daughter was turning 5 and never had a birthday party with all the fixings.

She was very sure she wanted pink and black all the way with a purse and make up on her cake.

I had been making different family members cakes all year, but it was her turn and i knew it had to be special as turning 5 was also special.

So here's what I did,i made two 11x15 yellow butter cakes, and put them side by side and put a buttercream crumb frosting on them.

Then I made a 9 inch round cake and cut it in half, standing them side by side with cut side down and put a thin layer of frosting in the middle to hold them together.

I colored some fondant hot pink, rolled it out and covered the cut round cakes and smoothed it out.

Then all my add-ons like the zipper and trim and corners i made from fondant just cutting and hand shaping from the picture i had drew, then set them aside, took a wire hanger and cut 2 pieces and bent the bottom in so it would hold in the cake, putting some tape on it,i stood the shaped wire on the counter to make sure it had a slight lean in and would measure up and was the right size for the purse,i added all my pieces to the purse then added my handles so that they would rest on one another for support.

I then took pink Wilton pearl dust and put some in a cup with a dab of water, and karo and mixed it then brushed the entire purse to give it a shine and glitter effect, which actually made it look real.

The make up,nail polish and lipstick i also hand sculpted and did the pearl dust on.I made 24 mini lip sticks, and 12 mini purses for the edges all the way around the cake, the mini purse is a triangle with the top folded down, and a Wilton candy pearl bought at wal mart in the wedding section.

I made a double batch of buttercream, took out about 4 cups and dyed it black, the rest was hot pink,i star tipped the trim and added a candy pearl to every other star. The necklace's are real for a token to keep from her cake......NOTE........I WROTE THE MESSAGE FIRST THEN ADDED THE TRINKETS....didn't wanna work around the objects, its best that way and looks better to put your message then all of your objects.......ok almost done,i then went and added dots all over then slightly touched them with my finger tip to push em down to appear as a polka dot.......there you have it,all done pretty in pink.

My Princess Tiana Cake for Princess and the Frog

by T. Brown
(Fontana, CA)

My Princess Tiana Cake

My Princess Tiana Cake

I was asked by my niece to create a Princess Tiana cake for her 5th birthday party celebration.

I wanted to use an actual Princess Tiana doll to create a perfect image for her special day.

I used the wonder mold pan to create her dress and I scooped out a hole in the top of the cake to place the doll into. I removed Princess Tiana legs in order to sit her perfectly in the cake.

I used fondant to secure the smooth look of her dress. I also sealed Princess Tiana into the cake with icing.

The party was a blast and so was the cake! My niece was very excited and so were the guests...You too can impress your guests with such a lovely cake.
