HUNTER'S WEDDING

I need a cow and bull elk on top of my wedding cake, do i make the elk myself or just buy ceramic ones and build the base for them?
My wedding is in Moab, UT with the Mountains behind us and the red rocks in front. I want to incorporate both, but I need to keep the cake from melting.
The wedding is in early June, but it being 90 degree weather, I am trying to figure out the best cake topper.
