Lightening McQueen Cake Decorating Techniques

Lightening McQueen cake will astonish all kids.

When I decided to make this cake I was very anxious whether I will manage to do it.

I wanted to surprise kids in my neighborhood and I truly did.

I succeeded in making Lightening McQueen cake and I was very happy but the kids were even more happier when they saw it.

Making this cake requires lot of time as there are many details and of course it takes lot of patience and love. As I enjoy in creating interesting and unique cakes it wasn't too much difficult for me.

And if you read my Lightening McQueen Cake decorating techniques you will learn how to make it yourself.

Lightening McQueen Cake Decorating Techniques

The first thing I did was baking the chocolate butter layer as I knew that all kids prefer chocolate cakes. I beat egg whites with sugar, then I added egg yolks, flour, baking powder, oil and melted chocolate.

I mixed all ingredients well until combined and poured it into the prepared pan and baked in the preheated oven for 30 min. When the layer was baked I took it out of the pan and left it to cool completely. When the layer was cooled I cut and shaped the cake to look like a car.

Then I used chocolate icing to cover the cake. For icing I cooked milk first with sugar and flour, then added eggs and melted chocolate. I cooked it until thicken for about 3-4 min. When thicken, I set aside to cool and when cooled I added butter and mix well.

When I spread the chocolate butter cream on the chocolate layer I started with decorating the cake. First, I covered the cake with fondant which I colored in red with food color. The details on the car were cut out of fondant in different colors as seen on the picture.
