Pendant Shaped Cake Decorating Techniques

Pendant shaped cake for my sister
I made this cake for my sister when she was organizing a party to celebrate her new job.

She graduated low school but couldn't find job for some time. When she received the news that she got a job she was so happy and so was I.

I wanted to surprise her with this nice cake as she is a cake lover. Read my pendant shaped cake decorating techniques and learn how to make this cake.

To make this cake I made two layers and butter cream. The layers were carrot layers. First, I combined flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In another bawl I beat oil with sugar, and added eggs one at a time, then folded the dry ingredients and stirred in grated carrots.

I put the mixture into the big rectangle pan and baked it in the preheated oven for 40 min. Then I turned down the heat and baked the layers for another 20 min. When it's done I took the cake out of the oven, let it cool in the pan for 5 min. and removed from the pan to cool on a wire rack.

I baked large layer and while it was cooling I prepared icing. I beat together cream cheese, butter, and vanilla essence. I gradually added icing sugar until mixture became stiff but spreadable.

When the layer was cooled, I split it in half horizontally and with sharp knife I cut the desired pendant shape. Between the layers, I spread the prepared icing and covered the top as well. Then I covered the whole cake with blue fondant made the flower out of fondant and placed birds figurines bought in cake store. This cake turned to be very delicious and looked really nice. My sister was very happy with this cake and loved the taste. I hope you will enjoy too.
