My son Arjun just turned 3.He is very fond of cars and bikes and his other passion is music...so on his 3rd birthday i tried to make these two cakes for him.

Bike cake was though difficult but for my 1st trial on this type of customized cake,it turned out well n with the excitement n smile on my son face,i must say it was worth taking pain for.

I baked a normal cake with the measurement of 1234-that's 1cup butter,2cup sugar,3cup flour n 4 eggs.(or u can also use boxed mixes for cake). I used 9*13 pan n baked it for 35 min & than took it out. Once it was cooled down I put it in the fridge for 3-4 hrs(so that its easy to cut into customized shape with less crumbs). After that i cut the cake in the shape of race bike with the biker sitting on it..I copied it on a sheet of paper from a photo gallery from clipart.com.

Once its done ,i crumb coated with the normal vanilla frosting n put it back in the fridge.after an hour took it out n did all the decoration(for various colour frosting, used food colour with vanilla frosting)...for background design, it was just chocale frosting n some coloured frosting for road, mountains and grass..Arjun really loved the cake.He cut that cake on his b'day eve.

I made the guitar cake for his birthday party(which was over the weekend). For this i used 2 boxed mix and followed all the same procedure as i did in bike cake. It sure was a hit for the party.Everybody loved it n on the whole my son was very happy. :)
