Suprise for the Happy Couple

by Rebecca
(Port Charlotte, Fla)

My idea came from when my ex-roommate and his fiance' got married. They have a tight budget so they couldn't afford a honeymoon or a cake.

With me in Cake Decorating Class, my final project was coming up. I wanted to surprise them with a Wedding Cake (something simple, but a cake they didn't have to pay for). I delivered it to their house while both were at work.

So now, I'm waiting on one of them to come home and get their surprise 8-).

My icing was made from buttercream, (a day ahead), flowers a few weeks ahead (we only have a 4 wk class), cake made 2 days before, froze and leveled out to be straight and even. I used a simple lemon flavor cake on the inside. (nothing fancy).

Basket-weave on the outside of cake, reverse shell on top (around edge of cake), roses made out of royal icing along with primroses, and lilies.
