Tuxedo Cake

I decided that it was time to teach my daughter the little I know about making cakes. A good friend of mine was turning 50 so we decided to bring a cake to the party.

We baked the sponge and froze it to help with the layer cutting. The next day we made a melt in your mouth milk chocolate cream cheese mixture for the filling. Each layer then got rum on the sponge, a thin layer of black cherry spread and finally the filling we made beforehand.
After four layers we we used fondant to finish the suit jacket look and made the red fondant flower for the side.

The cake was an absolute hit with many comments of how good it tasted.
