Ultra Easy Spring Cake Decorating!

by Pamela Love
(Seattle, Washington, USA)

My mother used to bake an angel food cake that was filled with a combination of strawberry jello, sliced strawberries and cake cubes, frosted with whipped cream (or even Cool Whip!) it was the epitome of spring in a cake.

Well, she would take that cake and tint the whipped cream a very pale shade of pink, then take marshmallows (regular size) and slice them length-wise to make petals.

One or two marshmallows would be sliced horizontally to make the centers, she would then dip one of the cut sides into yellow decorating sugar before applying it randomly to the cake and arranging the petals around it...marshmallow daisies blooming on a pale pink field of whipped cream......so easy and oh-so-pretty!
