I had a request to make a birthday cake for an adult. I looked on the web for design ideas and could not find any, so I went to the library, and there were none.

So I looked at wedding cake designs on the web and books and took some ideas from there and my own ideas of what an adult birthday cake would look like.


Attached is a photo. This is my first cake I had ever designed. So I was pretty impressed with it. I do alot of baking (pies, cookies, generic looking cakes, and breads) for the folks at my husband's work, which are always a big hit, and one of his co-workers wanted a birthday cake for his wife.


They asked my husband what culinary school I went to, and he says I had never been to one, and that I should open up a business. Cooking and baking is a joy for me, I love to see the smiles and the enjoyment on their faces when people eat my food.


So I am always up for a challenge when I am in unchartered territory for myself in the world of cooking and baking.
