What is a dump cake? It is exactly what it is called.
You dump pie filling and other fruit like pineapple into a pan. Then you evenly dump the dry cake mix over the fruit layers.
Dot it with butter or margarine and then add nuts and or coconut.
To say this is an easy recipe is an understatement. Some people will then add a layer of whipped topping. Needless to say this cake doesn’t lend itself to decorating.
It is delicious served cold with a scoop of vanilla icing, but tastes even better warm with the ice cream. The beauty of this cake is you can use any kind of pie filling from apple to pumpkin and any cake flavor that you like.
These are great for a family dessert or a pot luck supper. Best of all your child can make this cake and not have to worry about decorations; if you take it out of the oven for her.
